Malfunction Films Announces "America's Skinniest People" Contest

March 15, 2006

Malfunction Films, currently in preproduction on the feature film "Duvantin," is holding a contest to find the skinniest people around. Although called "America's Skinniest People," the contest is actually open to anyone worldwide.

"We're looking for people who look malnourished," said Dave Barak, founder of Malfunction Films. "Duvantin is a dark film, and we need people who look as if they've been through the wringer, having been starved and exposed to a variety of diseases."

The contest is open to anyone 18 years or older, and a minimum of five women and five men will be selected to appear in Duvantin.

According to Dave Barak, "We may in fact cast more than five of each gender, and we probably will. In addition, there's a good chance, that with the right acting skill, some may be cast in leading roles."

Although the contest is open to those anywhere in the world, winners will be responsible for their own travel arrangements to San Diego if they're from out of the area.
